Third generation kyphoplasty or ‘Stentoplasty’ (Videos and photos)
This is a minimally invasive technique to treat osteoporosis spine fracture. It works by directly injecting ‘cements’ into the bone to immediate strengthen the bone and relief the backache. The third generation stentoplasty, unlike the standard kyphoplasty, reduces the amount of cements needed to stabilize the bone with a miniature implant, hence reduces cement-related complications particularly leakage of cements leading to nerve compression. It can be performed through very small incision and no needs for hospitalization in selected cases.
